Mellanfjärden is more than just a campsite and guest harbour — here you’ll find experiences for the whole family, right on your doorstep.
Here you can go hiking or take walks — a map is available on the large information board. Fishing waters are also within reach for those who want to cast a line.
The house behind the service building offers information in audio, text and images about the fauna and flora of the Nordanstig coast, seal hunting and herring fishing. Crafts such as boat building, rope making, cooperage and engine manufacturing are presented in particular. Open daily during the summer.
A few kilometres from the village, the Handslaget Ropewalk Association demonstrates spinning yarn that is then twisted into rope, primarily using flax as the raw material.
Open Wednesdays 14:00-18:00 during
July and for a couple of weeks into August.
At other times, visits and guided tours can be booked for groups. Call 070-482 83 09 (Maud).
In the heart of the village, during peak season, there is a small grocery store with a café and two restaurants with sea views. Café Hamnlyckan by the river is open during certain periods. The Harbour Warehouse offers arts and crafts, and upstairs various artists display their works.

A stone’s throw away is the Enchanted Forest, where you can join a theatrical adventure and meet all the creatures of the forest. The great dragon Drakso still sleeps soundly — but may wake at any moment. There is also a café and restaurant here.
